Solutions for cleaning movements.
Daniel's Solution (for cleaning plates and parts)
Oleic acid 1 oz.
Acetone 2 oz.
Ammonia 4 oz. (not scented)
Water 25 oz.
Do not
soak brass in these if brass was pre-1860.
Early brass is not like today's. Early brass is easy
to tell if it has a "hammered" appearence.
Here's my recipe:
4 Oz Acetone
4 Oz Oleic Acid
4 Oz TSP or dish soap (I like Daw*)
1 gallon water
Mix ingredients, then add:
8 Oz Ammonia
( I use household strength Ammonia and it's fine)
Rinse with:
99% pure Isopropyl Alcohol
You can substitute extra
virgin olive oil for the Oleic Acid.
