and hopefully an occupation.

Thank you for stopping by, and enjoy your visit.

My name is Spencer Smith

I started working on pocket watches in 2005 after retiring from the
University of Maine as a printer. I have been in printing most all my life
I never had time to do these hobbies with three children and work.
After 2005 I went to a "BIG BOX" store until I was old enough to
retire. In 2011 fully retired I have time for watches and old clocks.

All that I have learned came from online courses and practical experience.
The only way you will become good at it is repeated practice.
Now that I am older, with less sharp eyesight, I switched over to clocks.

I started on time only clocks, and now do chime and strike clocks.
My favorite is a hard one for the beginner, the Seth Thomas model # 124.
They were made from 1924 to 1954 with an American made movement.

After 1954 the movements were produced in Germany. (not a ST # 124)
These were still
a good movement. I found very little information on the
original  # 124 movements.

This is why I started this site to help solve some of the issues.
It is a point where I never stop learning, and to help solve some of your
issues with my videos and tips.
